My Quest Study Bible says this: Do these survivors repent? (Rev. 11:13) This is the first time in Revelation that evil people acknowledge God (9:20-21). However, saying they gave glory to the God of heaven may not mean they repented; it may mean only that in their extreme terror they acknowledged a powerful God (see Daniel 3). Heck, if I was there, extremely terrified and gave glory to God then I would be repenting. I have heard a lot about the "Left Behind" story, and I am in agreement with much of the theology, and eschatology of it. I personally believe the world will be made new. I was attempting to make a joke/sarcastic remark regarding the fact that most people get their theology, especially eschatology, more from fictional works like this and the movies you mention, rather than from Scripture. Whether one agrees with LaHaye's dispensationalism or not, that trend should be disturbing. Sorry my sarcasm wasn't clear. I did enjoy the article.
