My Blogs
I am putting this page here to give a little info about the blogs I manage.
Fire and Hammer - the one you are on right now was my flag ship blog. I started it in January of 2006 over on blogger. It crashed on me in May of ‘06, and I ended up coming here a little later.
The second one is Wings As Eagles and is one I use for the Carr Lane Baptist Church which I pastor. Over there you will find a devotion for each day of the typical work week - Monday through Friday - as well as sermon outlines for Sunday mornings, and Bible Study notes from the Wednesday night Bible Study. I hope you will use those devotions.
The third one I would mention is The Watchman’s Trumpet and deals with some moral and political issues from a biblical perspective, and from the Old Testament most often, tied to the New.
The fourth one is Isaiah’s Prophecy and every article there is taken from the book of Isaiah. This was my flagship blog here at WordPress. I try to look at these scriptures as though it were through the eyes of the prophet himself. You might find interesting to say the least.
Another one is To Everything… A Season and there I just write about what ever I am thinking of, disgusted about, or just anything related to the seasons of the year or the seasons of life.
There is also one that is somewhat patriotic in basically calling our Nation to return to the Lord, recognizing our heroes, and it is Patriotic Nation.
Run Through the Streets is focusing on the Old Testament prophets, particularly the prophet Jeremiah. He is known as the weeping prophet, because his heart grieved over his people seeing them apart from the Lord and His Word.
Then, there is one called Trial of Faith. The present articles are from First Peter and dealing with suffering as a Christian. There will be an occasional post telling of some Christian or Christians who are suffering for their faith in Christ. These are usually from Voice of the Martyrs.
In recent years I have really come to understand how important family is, and I started a family blog. It is called The Blankenships. If you are interested in knowing a little more about my family and me, then, you are welcome to check this out. Leave a comment if you like.
There is much need for praying for one another in the Christian family. That is the reason for the prayer blog which is simply called Prayer Requests. Leave a prayer request in the comments, and I will post it on the home page.
A recently new blog I have started is called All Things Baptist. It seemed to me that there are many “Baptist” blogs which are going more into ecumenism, than they are promoting the Baptist faith and heritage. Baptists have always been a people of the book. Baptists have been persecuted in this nation from the time they came to this nation, and part of the reason for that is because of our beliefs concerning baptism, and the need for a regenerated church membership. We do not believe in baptismal regeneration, but that baptism proclaims our regeneration. You may go to All Things Baptist by using this link, or the one’s previous.
Just a couple of weeks ago - August 15, ‘07 - I saw the need to speak out concerning the farmer and farming, especially the small family farms. It tends to be a thankless job, and a forgotten job. For many farmers they have given their life to the farm, and it is a great way to teach, and bring up children. That is the reason for this new blog. On Life On The Farm there will be articles of my experiences in farming as a farm kid. There will also be articles concerning the plight of the small family farm and farmers. Without the Farm and farmers we won’t eat. We need to remember that.
Let me thank you for reading this page, and I welcome your comments on any of these blogs, even if you want to state an area of disagreement. Remember your Christian conduct in commenting. Any comment that is deemed to be just mean spirited, or vulgar, or cursing will be deleted.
MY PURPOSE FOR ALL THESE BLOGS -
When I first started blogging in January 2006 I cannot say that I really had a purpose, and I was really slow at getting things written and posted. When someone said that there were one billion plus people who had internet access, that opened my eyes.
I had seen several blogs which were talking about denominational things, and that is of interest to some, but my question at that time was, “What will those articles do for the man or woman of the world who does not know Jesus?” All these were out there for the general public to see and read. My thought, then was, and my purpose became to write articles that will point people to God, the Bible and His Son. Also to help the Christian grow and to become more like Jesus.
With one billion plus out in the world of the World Wide Web, there just might be that possibility that just one might read one of these articles that lift up Jesus Christ, exalting Him, and come to faith in Him. I pray that will be so.
If you are one who has been saved by the power of the Spirit of God, and He used one of these sites to call you to Himself I would like to know. It won’t matter for your eternity or mine. It would just be a joy to my heart to know that. You may post that in the comment section below.
Thank you for reading this page.
